Satire Readings

The first reading about with the animals as characters I thought was very clever way of showing how every student had to take the same subjects so it was equally fair. I think that this made it interesting and definitely more entertaining to read than a normal factual paper about school subjects. I felt that this reading I didn't really get any more of a point out of it besides they all had to take the same subjects and they all will be better at some more than the others. Besides that point I felt like there maybe was more of a point to it i just didn't really see it. I think this reading definitely took it over the top because obviously certain animals won't be able to physically do certain things but all students have the capability to study every subject and yea some will understand things better than others but they physically can study it.

The second reading about the change in educational technology really interested me because I think that it is so true in that technology is changing schooling so much. Even now they have online classes and online ways of communicating to teachers other than face to face meeting with them. I agree that probably, maybe not in my life time, that technology will completely take over education and this can be an issue. I think that if we rely all on technology we will completely lose any social being that we have or ways of interacting between people. When they talked about how they explained to the kids that with technology they lost interaction like they had in a classroom and they were just laughing about it, that will be true if this really does happen. People won't realize the worth in the teaching that we have today if they never had it. I thought that the "cellphone tattoo" at the end was funny because I don't honestly think that technology could advance that much but also because it was almost saying how today a cellphone basically is like a tattoo in the way that it's always in your hand.

The video showed basically everything that doesn't happen a college within reason. I mean the way that they told it was false, for example with the CA's letting you drink because they want you to like them, that's not true but the CA's just kind of turn their head even though they know that you are drinking. These also may be some examples of things parents or students have stereotypes about but it's bascailly just saying that none of these things happen at college.
